Care Instructions

Fabled & Found — Product Care Guide

Goal: keep your pieces looking fresh, comfy, and bookishly beautiful for as long as possible. When in doubt, follow the care tag on the item; if page notes differ, the product page instructions win.

Quick-Glance Rules (apply to most items)

  • Cold, gentle wash · Inside-out · Mild detergent

  • No bleach · No fabric softener (can affect prints & fibers)

  • Low heat dry or hang dry

  • Do not iron directly on prints or decorations

  • Spot-test any stain remover on an inside seam first

Apparel (All Tees, Tanks, Sweatshirts & Hoodies)

  • Turn inside-out before washing to protect prints/embroidery.

  • Machine wash cold, gentle with similar colors.

  • Use mild detergent; avoid bleach and fabric softeners (they can break down inks/adhesives and flatten fleece).

  • Tumble dry low or hang dry to extend life.

  • If needed, iron inside-out on low. Never iron directly over graphics or embroidery.

Print methods in our shop may include DTG/DTF, screen print, and embroidery. Heat and friction are the top culprits for cracking/fading—keep temps low and zippers/snaps away from the print.

Comfort Colors® Tees & Tanks (100% ring-spun, garment-dyed)

  • Wash cold, gentle, inside-out.

  • Color note: garment-dyed pieces have a lived-in look. A little pigment wash-off in the first couple washes is normal—wash with like colors.

  • Dry low or hang; high heat can tighten cotton fibers.

  • Avoid peroxide-based whiteners and heavy stain removers that can lift pigment.

  • Iron inside-out on low if needed; never on the graphic.

Gildan® 18000 Sweatshirts & Hoodies (50/50 fleece)

  • Wash cold, gentle, inside-out.

  • Skip fabric softener/dryer sheets—they can reduce print adhesion and cause pilling.

  • Tumble low or line dry to protect the fleece loft.

  • Expect light linting/pilling with wear; a fabric shaver keeps it tidy.

  • Do not iron the print; steam the body from the inside if needed.

Embroidered Hats (Vintage/Unstructured & Trucker Caps)

  • Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.

  • For deeper clean: hand wash only; avoid soaking the brim.

  • Reshape and air dry (stuff crown with a towel).

  • Keep away from high heat (dryers) to protect the embroidery thread and buckles.

  • Lint? Use a lint roller or soft brush—avoid abrasive scrubbers.

Phone Cases (MagSafe-friendly)

  • Wipe with a soft, damp microfiber cloth.

  • Avoid alcohol, acetone, household chemicals, and abrasive pads.

  • If MagSafe is used, align gently; excess heat (dashboards, direct sun) can warp plastics over time.

  • Clear cases naturally amber with UV exposure—regular gentle cleaning slows this.

Glassware (Cups, Can Glass, Tumblers)

  • Unless the product page says dishwasher-safe, please hand wash only with mild soap and a soft sponge.

  • No microwave for metallic/iridescent/UV-printed designs.

  • Avoid extreme temperature shocks (e.g., boiling water into a chilled glass).

  • For lids & straws: hand wash; allow to dry fully.

  • Bamboo lids (if included): hand wash, dry promptly, and occasionally condition lightly with food-safe mineral oil; do not soak.

Blankets (Fleece/Sherpa/Plush)

  • Machine wash cold, gentle.

  • Avoid bleach and fabric softeners (they can matte fibers).

  • Tumble low or air dry; shake out to fluff.

  • Do not iron or dry clean.

Stain & Freshness Tips

  • Deodorant/makeup on fabric: gently rub with a damp microfiber cloth + mild detergent; rinse cold.

  • Oily spots: pre-treat with a small drop of dish soap, wait 10–15 minutes, then wash cold.

  • Print area stains: spot clean only; heavy scrubbing can scuff the design.

  • Always spot-test first.

Storage

  • Store apparel folded or hung in a cool, dry place (avoid prolonged sun exposure).

  • Keep hats on a hook or form to preserve shape.

  • Store blankets loosely folded so fibers can breathe.
